Dispute the Credit Report, How to Dispute
![]() Whether it’s credit repaired online or in-person, disputing credit reports is the first step most companies take. Fixing inaccuracies will help raise your credit score over time and lead to happy customers.
Upon reception of the credit report, we carefully review the elements of the reports that are more likely to be disputed. These inaccuracies fall into the following categories :
Outdated : some negative items could be outdated and have no reason to affect the credit score. For example, a hard inquiry made for a credit card application can remain and affect the score for several years. Erroneous : These types of items are generally originating from spelling mistakes or incorrect amounts that have been misreported. Unsubstantiated : These elements are accounts that can't be verified with the information providers (financial institution). In this case the credit bureau is required to remove the items that they can’t prove belong to you. Fraudulent : Items that are identified as fraudulent upon investigation although they initially seemed like legitimate accounts. |
